Wilcom and Corel Introduce DecoStudio
Wilcom International, a developer of embroidery and decorations technology and Corel Corp., a developer of graphics, productivity and digital media software, announced DecoStudio, a new graphics and embroidery technology ideal for users in the apparel and ad specialty industries. "It's been a challenge for decorators to create multi-decoration designs that include embroidery, digital printing, appliqué and more. After surveying our vast user base, we discovered CorelDRAW was the most popular graphics tool for the print and embroidery industry, so we're excited about our partnership with Corel," said Martin Kristiaman, CEO of Wilcom International.
With DecoStudio, a decorator can combine embroidery and print, moving between vector art and embroidery elements, while keeping everything in one file for production purposes. In addition, designs can be layered with different techniques including screen printing, direct-to-garment, print embroidery and appliqué. The software also automatically determines the best stitch settings according to the fabric and garment types chosen, and converts designs from vector art to stitches.
