Updating your software

Staying current with the most resent releases of your software and software updates is crucial part to operating a healthy computer. Microsoft updates Windows XP and Vista on a regular basis. Often these updates effect how your software runs and the creator will need to release a "patch" to fix problems. It is also common for a software manufacturer to release a free "update" that may include added features and benefits.

Important Information

You must download and print out the "installation guide" included with the specific update for your software before continuing with the installation process. It is critical that you follow the directions in these guides.

CorelDRAW 12, X3, X4

Notes

It is highly recommended that you have installed all services packs for your CorelDRAW version. It is also critical that you have the latest version of CorelDRAW installed for proper operation with Smart Designer.

Smart Designer X4

Notes

A downloadable version of Smart Designer X4 is available. We are making some changes and will post instructions soon.

Smart Designer X3

Notes

This version adds Windows Vista compatibility as well as numerous performance enhancements including an improved template editing interface. Several new features have been added including the Swap Document Colors Docker in the Art Preparation tab. In addition, this update resolves activation problems that have resulted in an error code 86 or 257.

SmartCut Pro 2.0

Notes

This new version** includes powerful design and production tools for the creation of rhinestone heat transfers, and is compatible with CorelDRAW X4, Illustrator CS4, and Windows 7. If you are running any version of Windows 7, you must download and install the update. If you are running any version other than 6.5.05, we strongly recommend updating to this version.

To verify your version of SmartCut Pro 2.0, launch the software and select About from the Help menu. If the window displays any version other than 6.6.05. please register on the Stone Stencils Owners page to access the software download.

Name Drop Xpress 2.0

Notes

Name Drop Xpress 2.0 is a free upgrade for owners of version 1.0. This version is compatible exclusively with CorelDRAW version 12, and there are no plans to update the software for CorelDRAW X3 or X4 compatibility.

You must completely uninstall version 1.0 before installing version 2.0.
