The Graphics Academy Master Series

The master series is a 10 part training course that outlines a successful strategy for working with graphics for popular processes. Each class focuses on the nuance of graphics preparation, design, and production for a specific process. The classes are designed for both experts and beginners. Each class will feature CorelDRAW as the primary graphics program, but the principles that are taught will also apply to Adobe Illustrator and other vector graphics programs. 

 

MONDAY 3/1

Mastering Graphics for Laser Engraving

Join Craig Mertens of DAS and guest panelist “Laser Dave” Stevens from Trotec Laser to expand your graphics skills for laser engraving. Learn the basics of the art preparation and identify the tools that will enable you to successfully edit and output graphics for laser engraving and etching. Mastering Graphics for Screen Printing

Screen printing continues to be one of the most popular decoration techniques in the decorated apparel industry. This class will cover the basics of successfully producing graphics for screen printing as well as screen-printed heat transfers. Learn best practices for preparing artwork and the nuance of getting quality color separations.  Learn how our Graphics Builder collections can facilitate the creation of highly customized graphics for screen printing. The class will feature CorelDRAW, but will also be beneficial for anyone using Adobe Illustrator or other vector graphics programs. 

Why is this class important?

Learn a practical skillset for producing color separations for screen printing and screen-printed heat transfers. 

Learn How to:

  1. Properly prepare vector graphics for screen printing including trapping and under-base.
  2. Output quality color separations to film or vellum. 
  3. Produce halftones and output to popular RIP programs.
  4. Troubleshoot common production issues with color separations.

Mastering Graphics for Print and Cut

What will you learn?

Learn how to adapt the graphics for the print and cut process using print and cut devices. These include the Roland VersaCam as well as vinyl cutters equipped with optical registration systems for cutting out printed graphics. Learn how to create impactful graphics that are ideally suited for print and cut using heat transfers, sublimation, and full-color decals. The class will identify a skill set that can be used to maximize your productivity and sales with print and cut devices. The class will feature CorelDRAW, but will also be beneficial for anyone using Adobe Illustrator or other vector graphics programs.
